Meet Stella
Stella came to Canada from China in 2012. She achieved her master's degree in animal behaviour and welfare from the University of Guelph in 2014 and started her studies in veterinary technology at Ridgetown College in the same year. After graduation and becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), she worked at a general practice for a year and a half before joining us in January 2018.
Apart from enhancing her anesthesia skills, Stella is also interested in low-stress handling for animals, especially cats that are nervous during their vet visit. She has completed the Fear Free Certification, the Low Stress Handling Silver Certification, and the Cat-Friendly Veterinary Professional Program. It is her goal to provide every patient with a stress-free visit with us.
Cheech, a cat who was a colony teaching cat at Ridgetown College, is the owner of Stella. He decided to adopt Stella as his person before she graduated, since he knew she would spoil him like he was the centre of the universe. When Stella is not at work, Cheech likes to ask Stella to take him for leash walks or to play cat wands with him.
Stella is fluent in Mandarin, and she is more than happy to assist you during your visit if Mandarin is your preferred language.
